The rules we use when publishing

Useful lender pages should be current, sourced, readable, and independent of who pays FundingRank.

A paid relationship does not buy a better review.

Referral or advertising relationships are separate from the facts and editorial judgment on a lender page.

Show the source when it matters.

Important numbers and claims should be traceable to a lender document or another identifiable source whenever possible.

Do not fill gaps with confident guesses.

If we cannot confirm a requirement, fee, or privacy practice, the page should say that plainly.

Update pages when the lender changes.

Funding products and requirements move. Review dates help readers see how recently we checked the information.

Corrections are part of the process.

If a lender changes its requirements or we publish something inaccurate, we should correct the page. Lenders and borrowers can send supporting material, but nobody can pay to have an unfavorable fact removed.
