WHAT TO KNOW FIRST

Before You Compare Funding Marketplaces

Understand the matching service

A marketplace can introduce multiple funding providers from one inquiry. Ask which products and providers are included and whether the displayed offers cover the wider market. A network size does not establish that every provider will receive your file or that the cheapest option is included.

Separate marketplace guidance from underwriting

The company collecting the form may publish general qualification guidance. The actual lender or purchaser decides the offer. Confirm the specific product, provider and applicable requirements before interpreting a marketplace threshold as a hard minimum.

Control the application path

Read contact and sharing terms before submitting. Ask who can receive your application and when credit reports can be accessed. Save the language you accepted and the identities of companies that contact you. Use the documented preference or opt-out channels if you want to limit marketing; keep records of requests.

Evaluate the final contract

Compare net cash, total repayment, fees, payment cadence, security and early payoff from the actual provider documents. Ask about intermediary compensation and whether it affects the proceeds or cost. The convenience of matching does not replace offer-level review.

Refine the list, compare lenders, or price an actual offer.
