Before You Compare Lines of Credit
Compare a representative draw
Choose the amount and expected repayment period you actually need. Compare interest or fixed charges, draw fees, unused-line or maintenance fees, and the net proceeds of that draw. The approved ceiling does not tell you what borrowing costs.
Understand replenishment and approvals
Ask how repayments restore availability and whether further draws require review. Confirm whether another draw resets a payment schedule or creates a separate obligation. Do not budget as though unused availability is guaranteed cash.
Check the exact repayment plan
Credit, revenue, business age, entity type, location and documentation can differ by plan even at one provider. Weekly and monthly repayment are not interchangeable for a seasonal business. Read each product record and preserve uncertainty where a requirement is not verified.
Match the line to a cash cycle
A line can be worth researching for a temporary gap with a defined collection or inventory cycle. Frequent borrowing to cover a continuing deficit calls for a broader operating plan. Check how early repayment changes charges and whether payment history is reported to a business reporting organization.
